"Unknown Civilisation." Imagine you are a historian who has discovered an unknown civilisation. You have found artefacts, structures and remnants of technology that indicate that this civilisation existed in the past. Based on the evidence, you believe that this civilisation was advanced and had a high level of technological development. How would you use the Kardashev scale to determine the level of technological development of this civilisation? What key components would you look for to confirm that this was indeed a civilisation? How would you place this civilisation on the time scale (prehistoric, ancient, medieval, modern)? What theory of the emergence of civilisation would you consider to explain the emergence of this civilisation?
